Rep. Brown Encourages Toledo Residents to Speak Out on FirstEnergy Rate Plan
PUCO to hold hearing in Toledo next week

COLUMBUS – State Representative Edna Brown (D-Toledo) today encouraged Toledo residents to speak out at Monday’s Public Utilities Commission hearing in Toledo on First Energy’s rate increase request. FirstEnergy seeks PUCO approval of the plan for the supply and pricing of electric generation service for the period between June 2011 and May 2014.

“This hearing is an excellent opportunity for Toledo area residents to make their opinions known on First Energy’s electric security plan application,” said Rep. Brown. “I am especially pleased that the hearing will be in the evening, giving more citizens a chance to come before the Commissioners.”

The hearing is Monday, April 19th at 6 p.m. at the Michael V. DiSalle Government Center, One Government Center, 640 Jackson Street in Toledo. It is one of 8 PUCO hearings being held in northern Ohio this month.

Consumers unable to testify at a public hearing in person have the option to write a letter to the PUCO and have their comments be a part of the official record considered in the case. All letters should reference Case Number 10-388-EL-SSO and should be sent to:

Dave Isaacs a spokesman for the Ohio House has been great about sending me releases, some of the individual House and Senate members have their staff send me releases, but he deserves the thanks for his efforts in sending material for me to share with readers.
