LCRP ASKING FOR FEDERAL INVESTIGATION IN VOTER INTIMIDATION CASE
Lucas County Republican Party will be contacting the Federal authorities in this matter of attempted voter fraud and intimidation.
Paul Hoag, the Lucas County Republican Party Central Committee Chairman, announced that he believes that federal law has been violated in the attempt to intimidate poll workers who are also on the ballot as Republican Central Committee candidates, as announced by the Lucas County Board of Elections, today.
“This is an outrage of the worst kind, these are the low brow tactics used by ACORN and similar groups” says Paul Hoag, Lucas County Central Committee Chairman “the Lucas County Board of Elections works hard to ensure fair and equitable elections and struggles every year to recruit civic minded individuals to work as poll judges.”
“I know I have worked the polls most of the past 20 years, as my parents did before me and I have never heard of or seen this before,” Hoag continued. “I believe that every voter should work the polls at least once and share the burden so important to our democracy.”
“I can assure the public that Jeff Simpson (Lucas County Republican Executive Chairman) and I had nothing to do with this atrocious behavior,” added Hoag, “but, I will not vouch for Mr. Stainbrook, and his associates.”
Hoag is contemplating filing criminal charges. “Since the local county prosecutor has repeatedly shown her unwillingness to investigate and bring to justice criminals like these,” said Hoag. “We, as the Lucas County Republican Party will be contacting the Federal authorities in this matter of attempted voter fraud and intimidation, voter disenfranchisement, and civil rights violations.”
“If it is found out that more than one individual is involved we will be asking for RICO statues to be enforced as well,” Hoag concluded.
