Just off hand, isn't this the carp that can live on land for 3 days to get where it wants to go?
Also should we be worried that if we try to curtail the population of Asian carp that we could end up with another Delta Smelt situation like what is going on in California?

Those who care about our environment have to remember to be vocal when voting. Their is more to going green than just making speech's about carbon emissions. Decisions about Asian carp, fish farming in the Gulf of Mexico, ignoring the house of representatives vote for strong national ballast water policy, allowing for interstate transportation of fish in polluted waters to be dumped into natural waters throughout the country, the carbon footprints, dirty water trails ships leave, human bacteria and virus in ballast water are all issues people who are green should know about, the failure of this administration to address adequately. Voters must remember to tell everyone about the missed opportunity, to address ballast water as ships increase activity with the economic recovery. Main stream media will never do till it is to late.

I'm not sure it's fair to blame Strickland for the failure of the federal government and other states to take the Asian carp situation seriously. Unless Ohio declares war on Illinois for their refusal to deal with it more aggressively, we only have a few options.

This is all very nice, but as he knows - the Governor missed having the courage to make a decision or ANY decision by oh so MANY months. He actually knew about this since he's been in office and has done nothing.

We will now have to deal with the resultant outcome for generations because he's just - well remarkably stupid?
We cleaned up the Great Lakes and he abandoned them.

Run for office again :-) See what bites you in the ass.

Puh.
