Riddle resigns after complaint on text-messaging minor surfaces
The complete facts are still a bit sketchy related to Steve Riddle, who recently resigned from his position as principal of Leverette Middle School, what we do know from news reports, WTOL and WTVG is that over 140 text messages were sent from Riddle to a minor who was not a TPS student. The minor and her family were friends of Riddle’s according to the media reports. The WTOL video shares a few of the text messages that were sent that were deemed to be inappropriate. While Toledo Public Schools has forwarded their investigative file to the Department of Education, it does not appear criminal charges have been filed against Riddle at this time. It was reported that a parent of the minor is the one who contacted Toledo Public Schools which is how the investigation began. Riddle was initially suspended and then resigned his position effective today.
A few of you had emailed me on this story previously, I had promised once there was something more than just mere speculation to report on, it would be shared…
I would like to know what goes thoughts go through some adults heads at times?
December 30th, 2009 at 3:09 pmIt is a good thing that he stopped texting. Just imagine how much trouble he would REALLY be in if he got caught texting the young girl while driving!
On a more serious note, he needs to lose his teaching credentials forever. Absolutely NO excuse for this type of behavior from an educator.
