Some of the same goals but different methods…
The OEA (Ohio Educational Association) has been running ads on television that suggest/promote supporting Governor Strickland’s educational plan in a manner that would help public schools more than charter schools. The idea of educational choice is one that has been debated here and other places for quite some time.
What’s interesting though is viewing both of these two videos after the fold…
First from OEA:
Then one from ECOT (Electronic Classrooms of Tomorrow) that features Ohio Senator Mark Wagoner:
Education isn’t one size fits all, with our current economic climate hard decisions are going to be made, but I think it’s important that we keep discussing this…Both sides of this issue want some of the same things, for our children to be prepared for the future.
The ECOT video is impressive as hell….
June 24th, 2009 at 6:14 pmGov Strickland has made some noise about cutting funds to charter schools. But then Pres Obama has made noise about supporting charter schools. Personally, I’m all for charter schools. I have a child in a charter school, because the public school didn’t know what to do with him and I have a child who is doing well (so far) in a public school. I think parents should have a choice of where they send their kids to be educated. Competition can only make public schools better.
