Monroe County authorities found the body of a child believed to be Nevaeh Buchanan

A variety of media sources locally and in Michigan are reporting that a body of a child was found near the River Raisin in Rainsinville Township and it is believed it is Nevaeh Buchanan. WTVG is reporting that the family has told them that the body found is Nevaeh and a press conference has been scheduled for tomorrow morning, WTOL reports that the girl’s grandmother identified the body. NBC24 is reporting that the body was found encased in cement by two men fishing.

I can only say that at least that beautiful, precious child is now in the loving hands of God and I hope the scum who did this is found and punished to the fullest extent of the law and beyond. May that person rot in hell.
June 5th, 2009 at 8:59 amI was praying that someone took her too keep her safe. She was not taken, but returned back to GOD. This is not the end result that any of us wanted. It’s hard to imagine that someone so young can have so many bad influences in their short life.
June 5th, 2009 at 10:39 amThe longer she was missing the harder it was to not expect the outcome being that she had been murdered, I’m sure it’s not much consolation for the family to have had her found not alive. Though the way her body was hidden in concrete it could have been years, if ever for her to be found. I hope they find who murdered her, and I also hope that parents of young children stop and think about protecting their children by making sure that they are supervised when outside. We can’t save Nevaeh, but we can do a better job in protecting other children.
June 5th, 2009 at 11:58 amPam that was my first thought as well, that she is with the Lord. Nevaeh is heaven, spelled in reverse. She is there with her Heavenly Father. But the childhood He intended for her was stolen by someone immersed in evil and wickedness.

All I could do was cry when I saw this on Nancy Grace last night. Anyone that rapes and/or murders a child should receive the death penalty. These people do not change or “get better.” How many times do we hear that the person charged has done this before. This poor baby.
