ANY dog – be it a teacup poodle or a great Pyrenees – can be vicious if it’s mistreated, taunted, abused, or trained to be aggressive.

Pit Bulls (American Bull Terriers) are strong and can appear intimidating. But, from personal experience, when treated like you would treat a Lab or a Cocker Spaniel … the ‘Pit’ is no more aggressive than any other dog. I had ‘Pits’ while I had horses, cows, cats and kids around the house all the time. There was NEVER any showing of aggression no matter the circumstance.

I’m so glad that Barbara Sears has taken this stand. Maybe my opinion of her will be changing …

Good for Barbara Sears.

Baby Doc Skeldon’s definition of a pit bull is any dog that is roughly the same size as the American Staffordshire Terrier – all other things being inconsequential.

In the case of the six year old child being attacked, I’d hold the baby sitter criminally responsible.
