This in via e-mail from the office of Lucas County Commissioner Tina Skeldon Wozniak:
WOZNIAK AND OTHERS TO DISTRIBUTE RESOURCES TO NEEDY NEIGHBORHOOD
Commissioner Tina Skeldon Wozniak along with several social service agencies will be distributing food, smoke detectors, health and hygiene products, and more to help families get by during these difficult economic times from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at New Harvest Church in Oregon.
Oregon area residents can stop by and receive food, medical care, smoke detectors, health and hygiene products, books for children, and information on job training grants, and foreclosure assistance.
“These days, more and more people are struggling to put food on the table, by bringing resources directly to neighborhoods in need, we hope to make things just a little easier during these difficult economic times” said Commissioner Tina Skeldon Wozniak.
This innovative project is the work of the CARE Team (Community Asset & Resource Engagement Team). The CARE Team is a unique partnership between Commissioner Tina Skeldon Wozniak, The United Way, Food for Thought, 1 Matters, the Toledo Neighborhood Block Watch Program, Neighborhood Health Associates, Lucas County Department of Job and Family Services, The Source, and the Lucas County Save the Dream Task Force. Each month, the CARE Team will provide resources to a different neighborhood.
