Ashford wants halt to Marina Project
District 4 Toledo City Councilman Michael Ashford held a press conference Thursday to voice his opposition to the City continuing to fund the Marina District. The City sent three members of it’s administration to the Press Conference, not in support of Ashford but against what he was stating…
The problem for most of us is figuring out how much the City has actually spent on the Marina District, there have been a variety of plans that Council has approved and then had another plan approved. What’s really important to note that none of the media sources have focused on in detail is what District 3 Councilman Mike Craig stated, since the Marina District is in his (and mine) Council District:
Councilman Mike Craig, whose district includes the Marina District, said council should re-examine the project after the road is paved.
Media coverage from Blade, WTOL, NBC24 and Fox Toledo.
It would be silly plus a big waste of money to hault it after the road is paved.
March 23rd, 2009 at 1:01 pmIt would be even more silly if they stopped work right now, as Ashford is suggesting. He wants the work to stop before the road is even paved.
Why not finish the road (since that’s what council voted to do in the fall) and then evaluate the situation.
