Tomorrow the Mayor set to announce how the budget will be balanced…

There has been no word on if the deficit amount will be higher than 8.1 million dollars given the news that the State of Ohio recently announced their projections were off and the deficit for the State was going to be higher. That said, tomorrow, the Mayor Finkbeiner and City Leaders will be at the Downtown Toledo Public Library’s McMaster Center at 2:00 PM. It is reported that Mayor Finkbeiner will show how the City will be balancing the 2008-2009 budget.

Just to clear up the rumors out there, I have not been commissioned, nor would I accept the commission to write the Fairy Tale that will undoubtedly be read at this gathering.
I have heard however, that the first draft of this document has been modified, and will no longer begin with the words, “Once upon a time…”

God I hope it doesn’t start out that way – but I can pretty much assume that the “less then impressive” power point display that was presented during the last public meeting where we were told things are on the up and up will be making another expected tour stop. Look, I know that things are tight in the city right now but can we please have someone with a bit more skills handling the PR. My grand daughter could probably put on a better show and she’s one. Oh and let’s not print out the actual presentation – let’s take some pride in our work and issue some real professional documents. Just because the dollar is having trouble holding it’s value it doesn’t mean we should put out the same results. If i’m going to be mislead at least make it a bit more convincing.
