Knowing Collins makeup I sincerely doubt he joins any political party. I think he is properly positioned to serve no master except his own conscience.

I've generally been impressed with the newcomers.

Webb got off to a rough start but seems to be learning from the mistakes and getting better at her job. She may be a keeper if she can stay out of the partisan politics and stick with the business of the people.

Waniewski is my council person. He has met many times in the community, is pretty responsive and is seeking solutions. At this point, he gets good marks.

Lindsay Webb publishes one as does Michael Collins. All are interesting and surprisingly free of vacuous political rhetoric.

Notice that these are all "new" councilmen -- not recycled names from recycled political families. One is a Democrat, one is a Republican, and one is an independent although I'd love to have Michael Collins in the Republican party.

Gives me hope that there is fresh blood out there willing to be more responsive and more communicative with their constituencies.
