Anthony Terry takes plea deal related to drug sales…

03 Apr 2008

Anthony Terry is the Lima man who was at the heart of the reason that the SWAT team raided the home of Tarika Wilson, which resulted in her being fatally shot by Sgt. Joe Chavalia and her one year old son, Sincere, being seriously injured. Questions still remain about the SWAT raid, with it being known that none of the drug deals done with undercover agents happened at the Third Street home:

The first deal happened Sept. 4, at 1316 W. Spring St. Terry is accused of selling a police informant 5.6 grams of crack cocaine.

The second deal was Sept. 6 at 781 Holly St. Terry is accused of selling a police informant 21.1 grams of crack cocaine.

The third drug deal was Sept. 27 at 769 Oak St. Terry is accused of selling a police informant 26.7 grams of crack cocaine.

The fourth deal took place Dec. 3 in the vicinity of Grand Avenue and Elizabeth Street. Terry is accused of selling a police informant 200 grams of marijuana.

The fifth deal took place Dec. 12 in the vicinity of Elizabeth and McKibben streets. Terry is accused of selling a police informant less than 200 grams of marijuana.

The sixth deal took place Dec. 18 in the 600 block of North Cole Street. Terry is accused of selling a police informant less than 200 grams of marijuana.

The seventh deal took place the day of the fatal shooting, eight hours earlier, in the 600 block of North Cole Street. Terry is accused of selling a police informant less than 200 grams of marijuana.

On March 31st it was reported by the Lima.Ohio.com news that Anthony Terry entered a guilty plea to trafficking in crack cocaine, two counts of trafficking in marijuana, and two counts of permitting drug abuse. In return for his guilty plea 8 charges were dropped and it appears from the article he will most likely face five years or less in prison.

For those of you curious as to what 200 grams would equal – it’s the equivalent of one cup of granulated sugar from a weight standpoint about 7 ounces and rounding up to 27 grams is less than one ounce. That gives you an idea of the amount of drugs that were sold to undercover agents.

Was he arrested each time he made a deal with a police informant? Or were they just keeping track on how often this guy sold drugs?

Just keeping track of the sales that undercover officers made with him.

They didn’t call the city of Lima “Lil’ Detroit” for nothing.
