The long over due Richard Brown trial update…
I can’t go into all of the details, but this morning was the date that was scheduled for the trial to begin. Everyone was there at 9:00 a.m. this morning then one delay after another created a scenario where we had to wait for the prosecutor for the case to come back to the courtroom. This meant everyone including the media present waited for about two hours to then be told that the case was continued for another week.
The public story is that they are trying to “come to some kind of an understanding” but considering Richard refused to plead guilty to the misdemeanor offer in the past, I don’t see that changing. Though I have seen first hand why someone who is innocent might be beaten down by the way the court system drags on with the legal costs mounting every time there is a delay, every time there is a continuation. So, next Monday we’ll see what happens next…
