Jon Stainbrook calls for Bob Reichert to step down & Joanne Wack to resign

19 Mar 2008

This media release in via email from Jon Stainbrook:

Publicly, the Lucas County Republican Party has repeatedly said that they welcomed their newest members and even told the Toledo Blade they were not endorsing candidates for any central committee races. Their actions were clearly contrary to their words just as they were when they distributed an attack list to all of their county leaders and the state party. They sent them a spreadsheet listing the names of their newest members along with derogatory comments, and told them to make calls. Unfortunately, just like they did with their attack list, Joanne Wack and Bob Reichert have again used the party to target their newest members by mailing out campaign literature against them. It appears that Joanne Wack personally signed each piece of literature and mailed them out to their neighbors in almost every central committee race that included one of my recruits.

Wack deceived the voters of Lucas County by misrepresenting the Lucas County Republican Party. She endorsed and mailed out literature for a candidate who did not even live in his precinct and actively campaigned against a Republican I recruited who did live in the neighborhood. I am appalled that Wack would take it upon herself to use the party’s endorsement against their new members again.

Further Wack made an illegal endorsement and an illegal campaign expenditure that was not made in accordance with the party’s bylaws nor with the executive committee’s approval. Wack did this against the same new members that both she and Bob Reichert have publicly “welcomed” into the party. Wack’s actions are clearly not welcoming.

This is further proof to substantiate what we have been saying all along. The current Lucas county republican party is not a party that accepts all republicans in Lucas county, it is a party of a few underhanded and devious people trying to control the party and exclude newcomers. Reichert is obviously asleep at the wheel and continually allows Wack to run rampant and make decisions for the party. It is clear that Wack determines the direction of the Party, not Chairman Reichert.. I ask all my fellow republicans of Lucas County, are these the people you want representing our party. It is time for them to step down.

The Lucas County Republican Party needs to be given back to the good and honest Republicans in Lucas County. For this to happen, I am again requesting Bob Reichert step down and Joanne Wack resign. And I challenge every republican leader in Lucas county to do the same. Together, we can make it a party of inclusion, a party that is made up of republicans who support each other and work together to get republicans elected and will sincerely welcome new people into the party. Reichert is clearly not the Chairman.

    NEW NEWSPAPER IN TOLEDO!!!!!!

I was talking with a friend, and he told me that he heard there is a new newspaper coming to Toledo in April. He said the release date is going to be on March 31.

I here it is going to be a community paper with all types of news…but the paper is going to be strictly online? Does anyone know anything about this paper or the name of it?

Let’s see if some of the Republican office holders in the county such as George Sarantou, Tom Waniewski, Barbara Sears and Mark Wagoner come forward and give their views on this issue.

It’s time for leadership. Hopefully these folks will have the courage to address Mr. Stainbrook’s allegations instead of merely going along to get along. Step up to the plate and be heard.

It seems that Tom Troy has a hand in writing these articles about the GOP. I almost invision Jon Stainbrook sitting next to his desk while he writes this stuff. Wack and Riechert should almost watch their backs, Stainbrook appears to be getting desparate. At least someone is standing up to him.

It is clear that Wack is the desperate one. That is why she is resorting to illegal means. She is so desperate to keep her job that she is making illegal endorsements and committing forgery (not the first time she has been accused of forgery by the way).

Joanne Wack is in so much denial that she cannot even take responsibility for what she is doing and has done.

Now, she is blaming everything on a group of high school girls. That reminds me. Does anyone know if she ever paid back the $1000+ she took from the Girl Scouts?

For your listening pleasure, here are some more Wack clips:1. (Link removed) Reichert is in bed with the Democrats 2. (Link removed) Wack’s opinion of the LCRP central committe last summer …(funny how things change…3. (Link removed) Wack beats Reichert down.

Seriously, GOPrecruits what you do with video is your own responsibility and I try to never delete comments but if any of those videos were taken without the consent of those taped then if they ask, I’ll remove the links.

If it’s public video moments taken where that person is speaking in public or on the public record, that’s one thing but video taken without permission isn’t something I want to be involved in promoting.

It looks like a small goup maybe half a dozen or less. She is going to wack off the balls off the one crazy enough to tape that political strategy session.

    goprecruits Says:

Lisa, it is your blog, and I will respect that. I would like to clarify that the video was taken at a public press conference in the park by the Docks. Joanne Wack was not invited and showed up there under her own free will. The camera was in my hands the entire time and was never turned off after filming the press conference. I was not trying to secretly film her, and she was fully aware the camera was there. I wholeheartedly stand by that.

She is a paid public figure, the video was taken in a public place, and the camera was in plain view. It was not a covert operation at all. I just thought your audience would like to see Wack as she really is….so they can draw their own conclusions about her. As shown by the video, she tries to make everyone her puppy, not just Reichert.

The videos expose her for what she is, so I understand why she would not want everyone to see it. The video is real, not like her attack list, which is full of lies. She had no qualms with making up an attack list of gop precinct candidates (with the help of a staff member of the BOE) with their addresses and their personal/private phone numbers. She had no problem adding derogatory statements about these people, or ridiculing senior citizens, or with falsifying people’s voting histories. She had no qualms with sending her attack list out in a public mass e-mail to republicans all over the county in an attempt to discredit them to sway the election. She had no problem forging someone’s name. She has no problem with lies and propaganda, she only has a problem with reality..

There are 45 more minutes of it, so more videos will be added to youtube for those who are interested. Again, I was just trying to let your audience decide for themselves if she is credible. I did not make up falsehoods like she did in her attack list. She is full of lies like the public statements she made about welcoming the new party members. Why is she working so hard to keep the central committee when she wanted so badly to get rid of them last year as the video shows?

Sorry if I was out of line. I just thought your audience might want to see it for themselves. And this is only the tip of the iceberg.

GOP recruit, I left the initial video stand, until I was asked to remove it because she stated it was taped without her permission. It was a difficult decision, and it could very well be legal under Ohio law to videotape someone without their consent, but it’s not clear if it is legal to distribute it on the internet if that person does not wish their image used. It could be argued for or against in the research I did after this came up earlier today.

I try not to have to edit or remove anything here, this type of policy decision is one that we are going to have to evolve through and I appreciate your cooperation and your thoughts on this. Video is a powerful tool in making a point, and I realize legally that I’m not responsible for comments or links posted here on my blog, but this for me was one of those gray areas where once I was informed this was done without consent or the knowledge that the camera was rolling gave me pause.

I realize that as we progress in technology as a society this is going to be something that will probably come up again, and I could decide that I’m wrong taking my current position. It’s something that I am going to have to really take under serious consideration.

    Brian Says:

Maybe the party needs a little tough love here.

I don’t think the behavior of Wack and Reichert is all that surprising. The amazing fact is that none of the other party officials have come forward to criticize them for their sleazy behavior or even admit that the party is being poorly run. This clearly shows they didn’t learn anything from the Noe debacle. Party officials knew what was going on and kept silent to the detriment of all Lucas county republicans. Now the same Rolex wearing, self serving, elitists, continue to run the party with a blind eye to incompetence and a lack of concern for the damage it does to the party.

The fact that there were over 100 precincts without representatives is proof of the incompetent leadership. If there’s any doubt that current leadership needs to be fired then I suggest one examine the county elected officials. All three of the Lucas County Commissioners are Democrats. The Lucas County Prosecutor is a Democrat as is the Lucas County Clerk Of Court, the Lucas County Sheriff, the Lucas County Recorder, the Lucas County Treasurer, the Lucas County Engineer, the Lucas County Coroner, and the Lucas County Auditor. The Sixth District Court Of Appeals has 4 Democrat judges and 1 Republican. The Lucas County Court of Common Pleas has 7 Democrat judges and 3 Republicans. The party’s exclusionary practices have worked so well that they have now excluded Republicans from virtually every elected county position.

Perhaps its time to exclude the current leadership?

I think there are many republicans that are looking for a change towards a party that is actually concerned about running good candidates, winning elections, integrity, building voter confidence, and an efficient government. We shall see.

    CT Says:

Mr. Stainbrook has proven himself in his own current scandal to be as much an outright liar, a manipulator of the facts and above all, a political blowhard whose only interest is in himself. He has done nothing to bring the party together, but toot his own horn early and often about how HE is the one best suited to lead the party and not cut deals with Democrats, etc. etc. etc. He is at best delusional, and at worst a cuthroat power hungry person with absolutely no credibility amongst anyone in public office and the local GOP but his own friends and supporters.

Let’s begin with just a few of the lies we’ve heard from Mr. Stainbrook:
Lie Number 1 – He repeatedly made the statement publicly and often when he first submitted his over 100 candidates for central commitee, that he was in no way going to attempt to get himself elected as head of the LCRP. He said this publicly, and he also told numerous other folks within the local GOP that he had no intention of running for the head of the LCRP.
Few actually believed him and rightly so. This has since proven NOT to be the case, and we know now that it never was the case. A number of GOP leaders attempted to intervene to help Mr. Stainbrook approach his goal of leadership without his typical blow-hard, divisive, self-centered, accusatory and martyr-type tactics and Mr. Stainbrook promptly rebuffed their attempts. We have since been subject to almost daily rants from Mr. Stainbrook that have been nothing but talking points and sloganeering straight out of the 2006 Democratic political playbook, which was primarily smearing anyone and everyone in his path by claiming they were either tied to Tom Noe or went about their roles of leadership as Tom Noe did.
Lie 2 (and 3) – Mr. Stainbrook’s daily broadsides on the LCRP’s leadership in the all-too helpful and willing Toledo Blade was interupted recently by his own nasty scandal where he was caught post-inflagrante (or perhaps inflagrante interuptus) in a fogged up car in the late hours near the University of Toledo literally with his pants down and/or undone. Somehow, Mr. Stainbrook would have us to believe that the more important issue at stake was NOT that he was caught in this embarrassing predicament, but that we are to think that it was an ‘unfortunate’ incident full of ‘misunderstanding’, and that it was ‘politically motivated’?????? What kind of screwed up logic is that?????? Not only that, but we’re to believe that the first thing you should ever do when pulled over and confronted by policeman is to “ask if he’s really a policeman”????? Who does that?!?!? How many people in the city of Toledo, much more the State of Ohio and the freaking United States of America think that the first thing you should ever do is to ask a policeman if he’s really a policeman????
The even bigger question is, who thinks that way, EXCEPT SOMEONE WITH SOMETHING TO HIDE??? Additionally, let us ask who but Mr. Stainbrook gets himself off the hook on the technicality of all technicalities by giving the following 100 percent bullcrap story, such as the following, (which, I might add was BURIED in the second section of the Toledo Blade and was in a column about the size of an eraser): Mr. Stainbrook’s girlfriend had claimed she had pulled over ‘because he was talking too loud on his cell phone and it was distracting me’.
And then suddenly, because he was caught in a very compromising position, we’re to believe that it’s the fault of the LCRP somehow, because, according to Mr. Stainbrook, this somehow was all politically motivated???? Who’s car was it off to the side of the road but Mr. Stainbrook or his girlfriend’s? Who was out at that time of night, but Mr. Stainbrook and his girlfriend? Who chose to pull over to the side of the road but Mr. Stainbrook and his girlfriend? If Mr. Stainbrook is such a champion of ethics and doing things in broad daylight for all to see, where has his transparency gone to in the light of a scandal that HE BROUGHT ON HIMSELF??
This is blame projection and twisted logic, and outright lying of the highest order. It’s time Mr. Stainbrook took a page out of the current Democratic playbook, particularly Attorney General Mark Dann, and admit fully what he has been hiding.
