CNN has Clinton 56% Obama 42% with polls in Ohio not closed till 9:00 p.m.
Evidently no one told CNN that the polls in Ohio did not close at 7:30 p.m. since they are showing those numbers with zero percent of the voters counted and have already declared John McCain the winner for Ohio while the polls are still open. Ohio Democratic Party Chair Chris Redfern has already issued a statement on the McCain declared win.
“During his brief primary campaign in Ohio, John McCain voiced his support for job-killing economic policies, told state manufacturing workers that their jobs were never coming back, then took the weekend off for a barbeque on his ranch,” said Ohio Democratic Party Chairman Chris Redfern. “Is it just me, or have Ohioans seen this movie before?”
CNN has really missed the boat – they are reporting two percent of the vote has been reported in Ohio.
THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE – no data is supposed to be released until 9:00 p.m.
March 4th, 2008 at 8:30 pmIf you scroll down to the bottom of the Ohio page on CNN you can see the counties where the votes have been reported. It does seem odd though that they are reporting while the polls are still open.
March 4th, 2008 at 8:48 pmNow you know why CNN gets 1/4 the viewership Foxnews gets?
March 4th, 2008 at 8:49 pmNoooo Wolf – the polls in Ohio did NOT close at 7:30 p.m. – that’s what he just stated at 8:49.
He’s stating voter irregularity happened, which isn’t what’s being reported here – they ran out of paper ballots.
March 4th, 2008 at 8:50 pmLooks like CNN has no clue that the polls were extended and somehow one precinct was reported when it wasn’t supposed to be.
March 4th, 2008 at 8:52 pmOh sheeesh – they don’t keep the polls open because of road conditions…and CNN is stating it was 15 polling stations – Fox Toledo earlier reported it was 21.
CNN may have neat graphics but they are really dropping the ball on reporting facts tonight.
March 4th, 2008 at 8:55 pmFox News reported McCain as the winner before the polls closed too…
March 4th, 2008 at 8:58 pmAnd they have votes listed for McCain in Ohio before 9:00 p.m. as well.
March 4th, 2008 at 8:59 pmThey always do Lisa
March 4th, 2008 at 8:59 pmThat is why their ratings suck
March 4th, 2008 at 8:59 pmLeave it to Ohio…..
March 4th, 2008 at 8:59 pmThey aren’t supposed to declare a winner until the polls close…which now? The polls are closed.
March 4th, 2008 at 9:01 pmI have no faith in exit polls anymore. None whatsoever. The only consistency in the last two elections is the absolutely wrong results being reported.
March 4th, 2008 at 9:42 pmPrecincts Reporting: 2217 Of 11207 19%
March 4th, 2008 at 9:53 pmWinner Candidate Votes Vote %

Barack Obama 167,357 39%
John Edwards 8,892 2%

Toledo School levy 54% of Precincts Reporting
Michael Friedman won Erie County, looks to win Wood and is ahead in Ottawa County…
March 4th, 2008 at 10:52 pmHillary is announced as winning and she’s supposed to be in Columbus soon.
OHIO
March 4th, 2008 at 11:28 pm*CLINTON 805,206 57%
OBAMA 584,182 41% – According to Drudge
She’s talking on CNN right now – they called it a while ago for her but I was waiting to make sure the numbers held since some of the urban areas of Ohio had not had their votes counted yet.
March 4th, 2008 at 11:30 pmThank goodness for the levy and the 3/4! (and for Hillary :smile
March 4th, 2008 at 11:49 pmMost of the night while Clinton was ahead in the State of Ohio, Obama was winning here in Lucas County in District 9 – that’s now changed with 84.8% of the vote in with Lucas County – Clinton has 51.06% of the vote.
March 5th, 2008 at 12:30 amIt’s a trio – CNN & MSNBC have predicted Texas as a win for Hillary Clinton.
March 5th, 2008 at 1:07 amI’m not a McCain fan, but I have to agree, those manufacturing jobs are not coming back. That frank truth cost him Michigan already, kudos to him for sticking to his guns.
And Not Again, there is debate over what the cnn/fox ratings are, and who truly gets more viewers, (http://www.fair.org/index.php?page=2005) but certainly it isn’t 4:1, can you say where you saw that?
March 5th, 2008 at 1:09 amIs any of the confusion really all that surprising?
The media has had how many months to prepare and then there are the polling place troubles, that will surface.
Seems like the system is still as it has been for some time, now, why change.
