Watch Candidates Message Before Voting and…

29 Feb 2008

Fox Toledo has created a page with all of the links to their extended video coverage that you can visit here. The most recent visit by Caroline Kennedy is recorded there as well and that will be the place you want to visit in the days to come as it will be updated. Since politics is associated with kissing babies…

Correction…it ain’t babies that get kissed anymore to get elected

    Michael L. Friedman Says:

Lisa….She is BEAUTIFUL….As you know we have three (3) grandbabies of our own, and they make you proud.

  3. 3
    Not Again Says:

Yep Sepp, Freidman has that down pat.

    -Sepp Says:

    I saw Friedman’s ad in the paper. I’m convinced he’s a phony.

  5. 5
    Not Again Says:

    He is definitely a phoney.

    roman Says:

She’s definitely cute and above all adorable. I visited the link there for “candidates” and wouldn’t you know it – Huckabee wasn’t mentioned, how shocking (not).
It’s going to suck come Wednesday morning when they have to make numerous corrections to their status quo and mention Huckabee as the winner.
Oh well – I’ll just sit back here and watch the train wreck known as the drive-by media produce an interesting show for me to watch and laugh at.

    -Sepp Says:

Roman, it won’t be as easy to laugh at as you think. When the choices are Dumb, dumber, retarded and, “nobody notice this guy”, it’s obvious that 2nd grade mentality will rule the next election.

    Michael L. Friedman Says:

My Brothers and Sisters in organized labor don’t think I am a phony. I do what I say, and that is protecting the working man from phony managers of big business, who want to step on the little guy.

Grow up guys, you are living in a union town, run by the democratic party, and it is not going to change in your lifetime, not if I can help it. Liberals and the left will control this country for a very long time….AND IT IS ABOUT TIME….POWER TO THE PEOPLE….SCREW MANAGEMENT AND BIG BUSINESS….

  9. 9
    Not Again Says:

You are not only a phoney freidman, you are a suck butt.

    Dave Schulz Says:

A very enlightened screed for sure…..(major sarcasm alert)

If he did run a newspaper ad, IMO, not a very wise use of campaign dollars in a state committee race. Considering his rant in #8, i forecast a major defeat on his hands.

    Michael L. Friedman Says:

TO MR SEPP AND MR NOT AGAIN….You will be registering to vote in the Republican Party Primary so really I don’t give a darn what you think of me. I only concern myself what my voters in the Democratic Party and “ORGANIZED LABOR” think of me and here in Lucas County, I am held in high esteem, thank you very much

    Not Again Says:

Freidman has no control over his emotions. He will go down in flames on his own accord. I betcha.

Hilliary will win Ohio – the rest doesn’t matter

    Emily Says:

Hey now, guys, play nice! If not even babies can stop the squabbles, I’m not sure anything can!!

I went to the BOE yesterday and voted. Very convenient! I wonder if many college students at UT thought about the fact that election day falls over our spring break this year. Hopefully everyone takes care of everything today before they leave.

  15. 15
    Michael L. Friedman Says:

Yes I agree….Lets play nice….You Republicans fall to your knees in front of every Labor Union President here in Lucas County, and I will be very happy.

  16. 16
    Not Again Says:

Freidman, if you can dredge up one person that holds you in “high esteem”, I will not again bother you.

No cheating by changing your screen name either, dork.

  17. 17
    Michael L. Friedman Says:

Mr. Not Again…Please spell my name correct it is spelled “Friedman”.

Also, I would rather be a Dork, than be called a right wing, Neo-Con, reactionary, knee jerk republican

  18. 18
    Not Again Says:

I will start calling you “Friedman” if you will dredge up one creditable witness that holds you in “high esteem”. And then friedman, I not again will bother you.

  19. 19
    Michael L. Friedman Says:

My wife, My two children & my two daughter’s in law….

    Michael L. Friedman Says:

and they are all voters….and live in dictrict 2….and vote Democrat

  21. 21
    Hilliary for Ohio Says:

SCREW MANAGEMENT AND BIG BUSINESS….maybe u can start with ur union bosses who take away from the rank and file union workers to pad their own rich life style at the expense of the union workers – they are no better than a CEO of Halliburton

  22. 22
    Not Again Says:

Yes, wasn’t copeland mixed up in a union scam last year?

  23. 23
    roman Says:

Unions are no longer the corner stone of America – if anything they’re the grave diggers digging deeper and deeper while at the same time nudging other non-union workers closer to the opening of the large abyss.
We can even use Toledo as a template of what not to do.
    but that’s just my opinion.
and yes the baby is still cute

  24. 24
    el Mahico Says:

Friedman makes claims that he LOVES Toledo, yet he lives in Springfield Township. Phony. Anything for a vote. Typical wannabe politician.

Sir, I am a registered Democrat and I do not hold you in high esteem.

Rather, I agree with many of the above comments. You ARE a phony and a suckass.

  25. 25
    Michael L. Friedman Says:

Mr. el Mahico. First of all I am not a politican, I am a former Union Leader, with the American Federation of Government Employees, (AFGE Local 3970), and also happen to be a registered Democrat and am very proud of that fact. I am really sorry that you feel that way about me. I try and get along with all democrats. I could care less what Sepp & not again feel about me, there ideas, thoughts and views are none of my concern, but you are a different story. If you want to e-mail me off the blog please feel free to do so. Maybe we can straighten this out

  26. 26
    Not Again Says:

Freidman, it might be wise to quit while you are behind, but head.

  27. 27
    truthseeker Says:

Maybe this “independent” can lighten things up with a little union anecdote told me by a friend years ago.

Walter Reuther was at the Ford “Glass House” for negotiations. Don’t recall year, but would probably have been the last big auto negotiations before his “accidental” death (quote intended).

My friend was a Ford officer worker. She said the non-union office people took great interest in Reuther’s negotiations, because when he got raises for the rank and file, the office workers got corresponding raises by Ford. Ruether was held in high esteem throughout Michigan. She said when he came in for that round of negotiations at the Glass House (Ford Hdqtrs), the office workers were lined up in the hallway, both sides, shoulder to shoulder to get a glimpse of him. She heard he was close-by, and saw a group of men, but couldn’t get a good view, and said out loud “Where’s Reuther, where’s Reuther?” And just then Reuther got within sight of her group, had heard the question, and said “I’m Reuther, I’m Reuther.”

We lost a great man not too long after in an “accidental” plane crash.

    Dave Schulz Says:

I have served 4 years on a state central committee (GOP) and I love how Friedman has run wild with the notion of running for elective office. This kind of post is just an unpaid elected volunteer political post and usually a rubber stamp for the chairman of the party. I know this is your first foray into elective office and it tends to go to people’s heads but you do need a reality check on what this “office” is. This is just a name recognition race and who can get the most mail out in front of voters, of which probably 95% have never heard of you until this election.

One question for you? Who are some of the jobs providers in America? Many of these BIG BUSINESSES and MANAGERS that you want to SCREW.

  29. 29
    Dave Schulz Says:

Hillary for Ohio on post #21 – well said. Probably the only time I have agreed with any Hillary.

El Mahico – good one on #24 – too funny.

Before we return to the actual topic of the thread, which was Fox Toledo’s sharing of more complete videos of presidential related visits and how cute my granddaughter is…

Certain discussions create emotions, and as talked about at the Press Club today, when writing things on the internet at times things are written that would not be said in a person to person conversation or things that would come across in a different tone if said in person. Some of you are not going to agree with the positions of others, that’s understandable given the varied background each of you bring here.

There are obviously Democrats out there that hold Michael Friedman in high esteem else he would not have gotten the endorsements that he has for this office. As far as advertising, it’s not that uncommon when you are facing an opponent and his opponent has also done some media advertising as well.

Not Again and Michael Friedman have had several encounters on this blog, it’s clear that they agree on very few issues with the exception, if I remember correctly on certain cars being well made.

On the Springfield township issue, I was born and raised in Toledo, I love my city and for quite a few years as a parent I did not live in Toledo, I’ve only recently returned almost two years ago. Which considering what we are facing right now from a city and a school system scenario probably was not a smart decision. Whether you live in Toledo or not, you can hope that it succeeds because it does have an impact on the rest of the region.

Now…you can continue to exchange witty repartee with each other off topic, but, I personally thought Fox did an excellent job with the Kennedy footage and since I was not able to attend the appearance, while I’m still not an Obama fan, it was an interesting video to watch.

And…I think the baby is adorable, but then I’m biased.

    Not Again Says:

It is lovely baby and you have an incredible memory!

  32. 32
    TLC Says:

    LR, the baby is adorable!!!

and i’m not sure how witty the repartee really is.

i think a few people here need to either (1) lay off the caffeine or (2) take a nap and get rid of the grumpies. geesh.

  33. 33
    Michael L. Friedman Says:

Thank you Lisa Renee….Well Put. Shall I say I love Toledo, Northwest Ohio and the Democratic Party. How is the folks….
