Why Glass City Jungle does not endorse candidates or ballot issues…
Since the readership of Glass City Jungle has grown, and I’ve been asked the question recently about who the blog was going to endorse by quite a few people I felt I should briefly address the topic of endorsements. On my personal blog, Liberal Common Sense and in the very early days of Glass City Jungle, I did endorse candidates for office. The 2006 Elections and the primary I did not endorse candidates and this upcoming election I’m continuing with that policy of not endorsing.
Here’s why…Glass City Jungle is not about me and who I think you should vote for, of course I have candidates that I prefer that I know I’m going to vote for and the same can be said for ballot issues. The purpose behind Glass City Jungle is to give you as much information as possible so that you make your own informed decision no matter your party affiliation. Even if you end up voting for a candidate that I am not going to vote for or have a position that differs from mine on a ballot issue, the important factor for me is a) you voted and b) you were informed in making your vote.
Those of you who comment and even those of you who read without commenting, are what has made this blog so popular. I write the blog, I love the blog but I won’t use those of you who have made the blog a success to create a scenario where my personal opinions on who I’d vote for have more weight than yours.
How does the announcement of April 2, 2007 fit into the grand scheme of things?
October 27th, 2007 at 7:32 pmIt doesn’t Roland, I did not endorse anyone nor have I been involved in working on any campaigns. My brief venture into helping to discover school board candidates did not change my beliefs on not endorsing from a blog standpoint.

October 27th, 2007 at 8:48 pmGood for you Lisa!
In the mean time I will continue to vote for the lesser of the weasels, as I see them.
I’d tell, but that would open me up to ridicule from the mindless majority, and I’m feeling a bit vulnerable at the moment…
