Toledo sponsors Conversation on Climate Action…
04 Oct 2007
I heard about this yesterday and meant to post it sooner, and baring a last minute crisis, I plan on attending tonight’s:
National Conversation on Climate Action
October 4, 2007
6:30 PM – 9:30 PM
University of Toledo
Considering my husband’s reaction when I had him watch an Inconvenient Truth with me, I offered him the opportunity to just drop me off and not stay but last I heard he’s going to attend as well. Which could mean if he shares a running personal commentary to me about what is being said by the panel it could get warm in the College of Law Auditorium…
Close to 100 people attended, the Mayor had a scheduling conflict, Toledo City Councilman Joe McNamara was in attendance so he gave an impromptu welcome on the behalf of the City of Toledo.
I took a lot of notes that I will go through later but it was a very informative evening and I’m glad I went. Dr. Lonnie Thompson’s presentation even if you have followed the issue of climate change and glaciers was thought provoking and disturbing as far as what we as a planet are facing.
The panel aspect was also very informative but as I said I’ll update notes later.

An Inconvenient truth for Al Gore….not all the world are sheeple.
The A-Hole.
October 5th, 2007 at 8:52 amThere are sheeple on both sides of this fence. As an indepependent thinker I have read studies (not reports on studies) on both sides of this issue. It is next to impossible for someone with a genuine interest to reach an opinion sans political agenda. (Yes, we do exist.) As is very common these days, people are more likelly to choose a side based on ideology than on facts. Have fun grazing on your side of the fence Mr. A-Hole.
