In Ohio’s Fifth, one candidate drops out and others battle…
Two articles in the Sunday edition of the Toledo Blade concerning the campaign for the seat of the recently deceased Paul Gillmor, the first covers the Democratic side, 3-time candidate looks past Democratic rival where we learn that Dr. Earl Campbell of Perrysburg withdrew from the race on Friday when he did not receive the endorsement of the Wood County Democratic Party. This means that Robin Weirauch has only one primary opponent, George Mays, 51, of Norwalk, who reportedly calls himself “the darkest of dark horses.”
Over on the Republican side, I’ve already seen television commercials, and as the Blade reports in GOP front-runners spar as 3 others vie for votes, there seems to be a battle over who can claim the name of being a “true conservative” with State Sen. Steve Buehrer and State Rep. Bob Latta, with the other three candidates in the race, Mark Hollenbaugh, Fred Pieper, and Mike Smitley trying to get their individual messages out as well.
I haven’t updated yet to include all of the websites for the candidates for Ohio’s Fifth, but Jeff over at the very well done Ohio Daily Blog has a post that lists who is on the web in this race.
Thanks for the compliment and the link, Lisa Renee!
I try to keep the websites current on my 2008 candidates list, linked on my banner, click here.
