LUCAS COUNTY TO “BUILD ON OUR SUCCESS” AT ARENA GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY
The Lucas County Commissioners and community partners will come together for the start of major arena construction at a Groundbreaking Ceremony on Monday, October 1, 2007 beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the arena construction site.
The 8,000-seat Lucas County multi-purpose arena, a product of countless hours of planning, design, and public input, will have dedicated hockey and arena football teams and provide year-round family entertainment in downtown Toledo.
The project is considered to be transformational for downtown Toledo and will build on the successes of Fifth Third Field to create an “urban trifecta” of conventions, visitors and entertainment.
The Commissioners will be joined by Congresswoman Kaptur, Mayor Finkbeiner, Council President Ashford, the Lucas County Legislative Delegation, and many others. Over 200 people are expected to be present at the event.
