Columbia Gas of Ohio Announces a $1.5 Natural Gas Upgrade for Two Toledo Neighborhoods
Columbia Gas of Ohio customers in two Toledo neighborhoods will benefit from natural gas pipeline improvement projects.
A $1.3 million project will upgrade approximately 13,000 feet of natural gas mainline in North Toledo. More then 400 residential and commercial customers along several streets, including Champlain, Chicago, Summit, and Ash, will see existing steel pipe replaced with plastic pipe and meters relocated outside. The project should take approximately four months to complete. A public meeting to share details of the project is scheduled for Wednesday, September 8th at 6 p.m. at the Immanuel Evangelical. Lutheran Church, 710 Buckeye Street, Toledo, Ohio.
A $280,000 project in the Elmhurst area will upgrade 2,700 feet of existing steel with plastic pipe and inside meters will be relocated to the outside for nearly 100 residential and commercial customers. This project impacts several streets, including Elmhurst, Pennhurst and Garrison, and should take two months to complete.
Both projects are scheduled to begin Tuesday, September 7, 2010.
The work will require a temporary interruption of natural gas service. Customers impacted will be contacted via letter in advance of the scheduled work. Columbia Gas will make personal contact with customers prior to shutting off service and to schedule re-light appointments.
As a reminder, all Columbia Gas employees and contractors carry identification cards bearing their name, photograph and identification number and will be happy to show them.
