McConnell Hancock released from jail…

ladyjusticeKaryn McConnell Hancock was sentenced to a four year jail term for stealing from 22 clients more than $624,000 in a more than six year time frame. She was released from jail after serving 19 months. The average sentenced served in the Ohio prison system is 2.11 years, this would include all offenses. The last annual statistics reported from the Ohio Department of Corrections was 2008, women convicted of Felony 2 offenses served an average of 3.01 years with women convicted of a Felony 3 serving an average of 1.9 years.

McConnell Hancock was convicted of aggravated theft, a felony of the 2ND degree. The court docket also indicates:

5 years of community control to be monitored by the Lucas County Adult Probation Department specifically to include:1) Pursuant to R.C. 2901.07, defendant ordered to submit to DNA testing 2) Defendant must abide by the laws of this state and this nation and may not leave the State of Ohio without permission of this Court and/or his/her supervising probation officer; 3) Defendant not to ship, use, receive, purchase, own, transport or otherwise possess a firearm or ammunition; 4) Defendant to seek and maintain gainful verifiable employment; 5) Defendant to serve community service of 300 hours.

Defendant notified that violation of community control, violation of any law, or leaving this state without permission of the court or probation officer, will lead to a longer or more restrictive sanction for defendant, including a prison term of 4 years.
