Ohio Democratic Party Chairman Chris Redfern Blasts Iott over Coingate-linked Supporter

COLUMBUS – Ohio Democratic Party Chairman Chris Redfern made the following statement in response to the appearance of Rich Iott’s Coingate-linked supporter, Mark Katko, in his first television ad:

“It’s beyond comprehension that Mark Katko, whose firm was at the center of the Coingate scandal, would appear in Rich Iott’s first television ad, calling Iott a ‘partner’ and a ‘mentor.’ Under that logic, there is apparently only one degree of separation between Tom Noe and Rich Iott. It is sincerely hypocritical for Iott to pledge to restore Ohio’s economy and create jobs when he chooses to associate himself with the same people who mismanaged $55 million the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation fund. Perhaps Rich Iott will feature the endorsement of Tom Noe in his next commercial.”
