As you can expect, the response from the UAW local that is representing the Lucas County Sheriff deputies has not been positive, but it’s been reported recently that an additional 20 deputies have received lay off notices. This is in part due to the budget problems the County is facing which has been compounded by the recent ruling by the Attorney General’s office that the County can not charge townships for 9-1-1- service as it had been doing and planning to continue – LINK to previous coverage on that.
